Word Processing Drawing
Drawing You can create simple illustrations, such as geometric pictures or flowcharts, without needing to leave Word for Windows. These can contain preset colors for line colors or color fills.
To create a drawing using AutoShapes in Open office 2010 - below
Once you have an image on your document - right click on it to give you many more options - i.e. send it back and forward behind other objects or text - as below

Print Layout. This is the only mode in which you can draw objects in a Word document. From the View menu, select Toolbars and choose Drawing or right click on an existing Toolbar and choose Drawing from the drop down list.· In the Drawing toolbar click on the AutoShapes button and choose a shape from one of the menus as illustrated.· Draw your object on the document by dragging the mouse and holding down the left mouse button
Formatting an AutoShape object The easy way to format an AutoShape object
it to select it and then double click on it. Thus if you create an AutoShape
and double click on it you will see the Format AutoShape dialog box,
as illustrated. Notice that there are a number of different tabs allows
you to format items such as size and layout.

Select Objects Allows you to select a particular drawing object.
Free Rotate Rotates the object to any degree when you drag the corner
of the object.
Line Used to draw a line. To draw a perfectly horizontal or vertical
lineDepress the Shift key while dragging.
Arrow Used to draw a line with an arrowhead on it.
Rectangle Used to draw a rectangle. To draw a perfect squareDepress
the Shift key while dragging.
Oval Used to draw an Oval. To draw a perfect circleDepress the Shift
key while dragging.
Text Box Used to draw a text box into which you can enter text.
WordArt Used to display WordArt.
Insert Clipart Used to insert clipart and pictures
Fill Color Used to fill a drawing object with a color or shading.
Line Color Used to define the line color of a drawing object.
Font Color Formats the selected text with the color you click on.
Line Style Used to define the line style used by an object.
Dash Style Used to define the dashed line style used by an object.
Arrow Style Used to define the arrow line style.
Shadow Click on the shadow style you want for the selected object.
3D Click on the 3D style you want for the selected object.
