Move images or drawn objects within a document.
To move an image within a document - Select the image by clicking on it once. Depress the mouse button and drag the image to a new location within the document. Release the mouse button.

To change the formatting of a picture, to allow ‘drag and drop’ moving Sometimes when you insert a picture you will find that you are unable to use drag and drop techniques to move the picture within a document. This is due to the fact that the picture may be formatted to display ‘in line with text’. To allow you to use ‘drag and drop’ techniques on the picture you may need to specially format the picture. To confuse matters further, some pictures will allow ‘drag and drop’ moving! So if you are unable to move a picture by ‘dragging and dropping’, do the following! Select the picture by clicking on it once. Right click on the picture to display a popup menu, this gives the options OpenOffice 2009 - as below

You may have to change the anchor- 3rd one down in menu - as above
Make sure that the Layout section of the Format
Picture dialog box is selected. Select an option such as Square or Tight,
as illustrated. · Click on the OK to continue. You will find
that you can now drag your picture within the text on a page.
To create a duplicate image within a document Select the image by clicking on it once. Depress the Ctrl key (and keep it depressed), then depress the mouse button and drag the image to a new location within the document.· Release the mouse button, and then release the Ctrl key.
